The Reebok RibCor hockey stick is definitely unique because it’s the first pre-loaded hockey stick ever constructed. This means that the fibers are already in tension, creating optimal energy transfer into every shot. This concept may seem a little strange and perhaps because the typical notion is that all sticks are already “pre-loaded”?
Reebok designed the RibCor sticks with a geometric mold that already places the fibers in tension, allowing players to maximize each shot. Therefore, players can quickly release a shot that is backed by some fast-action pop. The pure fiber one-piece construction eliminates any overlapping material in the lower shaft and reduces overall weight. This offers a more consistent energy transfer providing a maximum shot release. The RibCor shot technology has been used in the NHL for quite some time now, making it game proven and ready.
Back in 2011, Bauer released their new line of Vapor sticks that featured the top of the line Vapor APX stick: the successor to the ever so popular Vapor X60. This APX did quite well, especially at the professional level offering the quickest shot release out of the Nexus, Vapor and Supreme stick families. Bauer now looks to further this success with the introduction of the newest Vapor stick line that will showcase the Vapor APX 2 as the flagship model.

Having a solid routine is key for extending the life of your goalie gear and ensures you’re safely protected throughout the game.
Increase Your Gear's Longevity
Goalie Chest Protectors and pants should be hand washed with a mild detergent using cold water. Do not submerge any item underwater, because the gear will not be able to dry properly allowing bacteria and mildew to form in the moist areas. Instead, lightly scrub the items using a sponge, rinsing thoroughly to ensure all of the detergent is rinsed out. Washing machines are not recommended because this can cause premature separation of materials and protective foams reducing protection and life expectancy. Waterproofing treatments such as Scotchguard can be used on your chest protector and goalie pants to help repel moisture and helps keep gear cleaner longer. When using waterproofing spray, make sure you test a small area and make sure you are not allergic to the chemical spray. Read more…
I don’t care who you are – sorry that was a rude way to start a blog – but you have to respect Pavel Datsyuk. At 34 years old, Pavel Datsyuk still manages to find his way onto every highlight reel with ease. Even if you don’t respect the player, you at least have to respect his filthy hands, his playmaking ability, his two way style of play, and his overall sense of the game. I enjoy watching the Detroit Red Wings simply because of this Russian legend. TSN held a fan vote at the end of the season to determine the top play of the year and through all sorts of brackets and match-ups, Datsyuk ended up in the final vote against… himself?
Datsyuk vs. Datsyuk
Needless to say, Datsyuk won. The winning play featured Datsyuk in his defensive end leveling one Nashville Predator, outskating the next, then dancing through the remaining three to put it past goalie and tie the game. Anyways, watch this ridiculous play.
2013 has seen its fair share of new and innovative hockey gloves. Companies such as Bauer, Easton, CCM and Reebok have introduced what they consider to be their premier gloves. This write-up will talk about the three different fits of gloves and the comparison between brands. Sometimes the norm is solely based off looks and brands when purchasing new gloves; however, different gloves can offer better performance. The three different fits are broken down into: Traditional, Contoured, and Tapered.
