All-Star Skills – What Did the Winners Wear?

Well the All-Star weekend has come and gone, and there certainly were some moments to remember (insert reminiscing). I’ll forego recapping our favorite moments and skip to the content. Personally, the skills competition is more enjoyable to watch than the game itself, so we decided to break down the gear of the skills winners: Jonathan Drouin, Shea Weber, Patrick Kane, and Ryan Johansen. Honorable mention to the eventual skills champion Team Foligno; though we are not going to break down each player on the team. Team Foligno, we honor you. Moving on…

nhl-skills-web-13It was hilarious and awesome to see The Phil beat out Tyler Seguin in the fastest skater competition, but eventually the young speedster, Jonathan Drouin, was crowned as the fastest skater. At first glance, you can see that Drouin is head-to-toe CCM. The jets of choice for the young man are the CCM Tacks Skates. Nicely complementing the skates is the CCM Tacks Stick held by the traditional CCM 4-Roll gloves. To top it off, Drouin protects the brain with the CCM Resistance Helmet.

Speaking of speed, namely 108.5 mph, let’s move on to Shea Weber and the booming clap-bomb that took the hardest shot award to Nashville. The setup that snapped it home? The Bauer Supreme NXG stick in combination with the Reebok 11K gloves. He’s also wearing the Bauer TotalOne NXG Skates and the CCM Vector 10 Helmet.

Getting to the sniper, Patrick Kane, picking off corners like nobody’s business with the Bauer Vapor APX2 stick. He proudly showcased the Bauer Vapor 1X skates though and the traditional Bauer Nexus 1000 Gloves. The flow was protected nicely by the Re-Akt 100 helmet.

Finally, the hometown favorite Ryan Johansen who took the “shootout” part of the competition. He worked his magic with the new Bauer Vapor 1X stick and Bauer Vapor APX2 Skates. Not to mention picking up the kid with the Bauer Nexus 1000 gloves and slapping on the Bauer Re-Akt 100 for protection.

There you have it! Have a great day.
