CCM Tacks: Tradition Meets the 21st Century

January 21st, 2014 Jake

The new CCM Tacks have been released to the public eye. 10 years they have been dormant, but now, they’re here and CCM is looking to take the skate world by storm. These come from arguably the most iconic ice hockey skate lineage in the history of the sport, spanning all the way back to the 1950′s. If you’re looking for an original and traditional hockey skate, then this is definitely it. But enough of me blabbing about them, here’s the video CCM released earlier today:

Pretty sweet right? Definitely a tease for the CCM Tacks fans like myself. It really is crazy to see how skates have evolved in the last 60 years. From the looks of it, they’re using the Speed Blade 4.0 holder as well as the Hyper Glide steel runner used in the RBZ, which allows the ┬áskate to sit 4mm higher in the front and back, giving you and aggressive turning radius.

Nathan MacKinnon's CCM Tacks

They are currently being used in the NHL as of mid-January by Colorado Avalanche’s Nathan MacKinnon, who is the first CCM athlete to use the skates. Well I’ve said what I wanted to about these. What do you guys think about them? Do you think CCM did a good job with the new look and design? Will you pick up a pair yourself? Let us know your thoughts below and be sure to keep checking back at Ice Warehouse for the latest news, videos, and release dates on these beauties!
