Bauer Nexus 8000 Stick
Back in 2012, Bauer launched the Nexus 1000 hockey stick to offer an intermediary flex profile to sit between the Bauer Supreme and the Bauer Vapor stick lines. Two years later, the Bauer Nexus 8000 Sticks hit the market. Before we break it down, let’s take a look at the new design.
Similar to the Nexus 1000, the Bauer Nexus 8000 features a predominantly blacked out design. Though, this year’s model features a blue pattern on the handle.
The Nexus line features a flex profile that Bauer is calling the Tru Mid Flex profile. Basically, this is a traditional flex profile that mixes the power of the Bauer Supreme line and the quickness of the Bauer Vapor line, to allow players to shoot hard, quick, accurate, and effortless shots.
The 8000 uses PowerSense technology in the blade to add stability, feel, and durability. There is an additional ‘sense’ layer found in the APX 2 that the Nexus now uses to reduce breakdown while greatly improving puck feel . The Pure Shot Blade Profile reinforces the blade to ensure accuracy and durability.
The Nexus 8000 is a true one piece design (not fused) to provide the best possible response and balance. Bauer uses TeXtreme® construction, which is a high grade carbon for extreme light weight without sacrificing any durability. To further improve durability, Bauer ran micro nanotube reinforcements through the carbon fiber in order to strengthen the build.
The Nexus 8000 is the flagship model of the 2014 Nexus line, which includes the Nexus 7000, Nexus 6000, Nexus 4000, and the Nexus 2000. These sticks launch April 17, 2014 and will be available at Inline & Ice Warehouse.
